CustomerReviews

2007 Bought New in 2009?
Seems they are still selling the 2007 models in 2009 because this was a brand new Kohls store in San Jose. Got it for only $87! I couldn't believe it either but it's a heavey duty black model with the lifting bowl with only 325 watt motor. Picture on the box showed a big plastic worm gear in the transmission so longevity might still be a problem.

Anyway, it came with all metal stirs and whisk so they are now dishwasher safe. It's a bit heavy, probably 25 lbs. and the only place for it is in an over head cabnet so I'll have to get it for my wife. The bowl is also a but tough to put on and take off. Best method I found was put one side on then slip it under the back spring loaded lock as I brace my hand against the metal arm and catch the other holder. My wife could do it to so hopefully the amount of effort won't become a problem in the future. I mainly got it for making cookies and heavy stuff like pie crusts. Makes sense to just keep using a hand blender for the light stuff.

The bowl height adjustment appeared to leave too big a gap so I turned the adjustment screw all the way up to as close as things can get. With this adjustment the beaters and whisk still do not touch the bowl but get nice and close. I put the flat beater on and put a soft stick of butter in and had no clearance problems when mixing. Stuck the rest of the mix in and made a batch of cookies with no blending problems. I had to scrape the sides but they all probably need that. After finished I checked the bottom and there wasn't any unmixed poweder. It was a little loud when I ran it empty but seemed to get quieter after mixing the cookie dough. Still a little loud in Stir mode but the faster speeds are quieter. Did not notice any oil leak. Seems like I got a good one though I'll probably never put it to the test making bread. I'll comment back if anything goes wrong.

KitchenAid
I bought the KitchenAid for christmas.I am studying to become a profesional cooker , and I used a lot.Is fantastic, good power.

Helps me a lot in the kitchen.

I am really happy with this purchase.

Best mixer on the market bar NONE!
This is it as far as mixers go, I will never need to buy another one in my lifetime, and chances are excellent this one will be passed down to my kids. This thing is a beast, easily handling tough chores (try mixing bread dough in a lesser machine). Great range of accessories (I have the food grinder and use it to make sausage). You can't go wrong, if you are considering another mixer stop, no need to look any further! And the best part???? This thing is actually made in the US!!!!
